They all suck at holding runners. They should share some of the blame for his low base stealers caught percentage.

He's a very good player, but who is he striking fear in? The hotdog vendors?
So wrong. Intangibles as a catcher (how to handle a pitching staff, call a game, calm pitchers, etc) are one of the biggest reasons catchers either succeed or fail behind the plate.jgro85 said:intangibles are bs btw.
Paul Konerko is pretty underrated.

Haha thanks. McCann might be one of my favs on the Braves and always been a huge fan, but yes i still think posey should've won it that year.wolf324au said:darocker80 said:However..I still think Posey should've won it last year
I'm a huge Braves fan but I'll completely agree with you on that one.

What? Ok...here's Mauer and McCann's average lines for a 162 game season. I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

McCann is a great all around player who hasn't had that year where he stands out for one reason or another
Once he does, there's an opportunity for significant price increase.
I would compare him to Lance Berkman and Chipper Jones before they made their runs at .400
Or Halladay before his impending Free agency.

I understand your point, but Mauer had 28 hrs, not 37. Mauer has only been in double digits in homers twice while McCann only missed this achievement once (his rookie season). The real "monstrous" category of Mauer's 2009 season was his stellar average. I am in no way trying to take anything away from Mauer, but McCann is a better offensive catcher in my opinion. If it was possible for McCann start ~20% of his games at DH like Mauer does, you would see his numbers increase as well.
