Porcello = Scott Erickson

That's ballsy. I wouldn't bet my card collection on your comment above.

Yea, I agree. Erickson won 20 games in his second season. I don't think Procello is quite that good.

ive been quoted 6 times in this thread so far.

i think since leyland is fired after this yr if he doesnt win, hes finna to pull out all the stops and try to get back to the playoffs. this will include taking the best 5 starters out of ST which i think includes Porcello

That sounds about right to me too. Leyland is good at dealing with the players motivation/attitudes, but horrible when dealing with pitching. It's for sure his last year if they don't win.

The face of the game is changing to a more speed/defense type game. The Tigers are of the old ways. I hope they win, but I don't think it's going to happen.

It's all up to the pitching though. If they can return to the 06 form it's definitely possible. Who knows, with a new pitching coach maybe they do.

No. He will start the year in Eerie. The EARLIEST he will be called up is in September. The Tigers have no need to rush him, I think they learned their lesson with Maybin.

If the Tigers are in the race in late July/August and they need a jolt, I can see them bring Porcello up for a spot start or two if the pitching was starting to fade. Though, the odds of everything falling in place for it to make sense is slim to nil.

Uh, I don't remember them rushing Maybin at all. He came up in September like most guys do. Not only that, but they sent him back, and didn't keep him around. He barely played when he did get called up. If anything I think it was to motivate him by showing him the big leagues and what he needed to work on.
