Is Leaf Golf actually a baseball product?

Most Leaf Golf breakers are likely fans of Leaf. Most Leaf fans are baseball fans.
I wouldn't exactly call myself a "Leaf" fan. I have purchased various products that where, meh, but I'm very interested in golf because nothing has been manufactured in a long time.

The hockey forum has a dedicated group of guys that do post and discuss stuff. While there is no guy named Jaypierre that makes 15 Pimp my Hockey Prospect threads each day, they do have a following. So does football.

Basketball has been dead all year due to the lockout and then a lack of product and interesting topics. I am sure that come playoff time or when a new exciting product comes out, they will crank back up.

We have tried multiple forums before and found that the smaller sports such as golf, Nascar, Bass Fishing, Volleyball, Badminton, Soccer, and Water Polo didn't have sustained traffic to warrant having their own place so we consolidated it all into one forum.

Its that reason that we have decided that, if done in good taste, the boxing stuff and the golf stuff can stand in a baseball related forum because people don't go ape poop about it and there aren't 50 million threads being started about it. If that were the case, we would go to work removing them and placing them in the MISC forum.

The big deal, I think, is that other people's threads get moved, and people get flamed for posting things in the wrong place.

But then, this is ok?

I could see how that would piss people off a little bit.

There really isn't a place for golf though. Basketball has a forum, football has a forum, hockey has a forum. Transactions have their forums. Golf doesn't really have a home.

I understand.

I'm just saying, that could be a reason.

no it's actually a golf product...no baseball cards in the product

FYI - I accept paypal donations for the extensive research that went into the above conclusion

The same thing happened with Leaf Ali. If Leaf makes a product, it's going to be hot, and it's going to be posted within the baseball boards (barring something of the other three major sports). Even soccer would probably get posted in baseball, even though there is a "football" section.

It is kind of funny though that the non-baseball Leaf products live on the baseball boards, but many threads posted here to reach real traffic are moved to the General Chat board. Doesn't bother me either way, just an observation. If they were in a different forum, I'd still make an effort to track them down, and really, it might drive in some traffic to the Misc. boards and help build them up.

So, my thread went bye-bye.

Why is it that there are non-leaf golf threads being posted in the baseball forum?

Isn't that what Misc. and Off Topic are for?

Having Leaf (and to a lesser extent ITG, Topps, and Panini) non-baseball products on the main baseball board and in the baseball box-breaks isn't a big deal, but to the extent that the goal is to have these message boards remain "on-topic," it is somewhat self-defeating. Over half of the breaks on the first page of the baseball box break board are of a golf product. I'm just saying... :ugeek:

Beats all the crap topps is cranking out.

Gives me a reason to check the box break board
