First of all, I love this board, it's my favorite website and I thank all the moderators for their hard work keeping it running.
However, does anyone else think the name "Freedom Card Board" limits the amount of new members signing up?

If I had never heard of this site, and I was searching Google for a sportscard message board, I probably wouldn't click on a board of this name because it doesn't sound like baseball or sports.
Yesterday at work, a co-worker saw me reading the board, and asked why I was looking at a "freedom fighters" website.

Of course, we longtime members know the name Freedom is because we broke free of Beckett's terrible board.
But to the average collector searching for a new message board, I don't think one of this name will be among their first choices.

I don't have any solutions, and again, I appreciate the hard work by the moderators.
It's just something I was thinking about after the FCB's marketing push at The National.

if it is, or if it ain't

it's too late to go back.

The name is fine, people are finding it ok.

Social media and grass roots is how this site grows, and it's proven to be the most effective.

It has grown VERY fast doing it this way, I am to continue what I am doing.

The website always runs good. Never down like a lot of website I visit. Nothing drives me more crazy than a website down for a long period of time.

To be serious for a moment, which this thread was, does anyone besides Chris have an opinion about the original domain name?
I know it's too late to change it, but do think the name Freedom Card Board prevents maybe potential members from joining?

I'm sure there are tons of keywords associated with the website that add it to the top of the list when certain words are googled (or other search engine-d).

I agree that the name leaves something to be desired, but as others have mentioned, it is way too late to consider changing it.
