Is there a FREE sniping service that fires later than gixen?

I've never been the person to snipe, but when some big stuff came up a few months back I decided it was time to give it a try. I've only used it about 5-6 times, but every time my snipe has been to low. Finally for the first time, my last 2 snipes fired, but with 5 or 6 seconds left. The first auction fired, I was winning for 1 second before another snipe fired and I lost. I had an auction that ended 5 minutes ago, it fired but my bid was too low and I lost. In my horrible opinion 5-6 seconds for a snipe is too early. Is there any free service that fires 2 or 3 seconds before the auction ends?

Exactly...2-3 seconds isn't going to matter anyway if your snipe is low

You think if your snipe fires later... and it is lower than the snipe that fired first... that you should still win?

I snipe at $55.22.... but 2 seconds later you fire a snipe at $49.82.... you think your lower bid should still win?
