Just my 2 cents real quick.

When selling I charge $3.00. When shipping I put the card in penny sleve, toploader inside a team bag with 1 packing peanut. (all supplies are brand new ultrapro products) Then in a 000 bubble mailer. It cost me roughly $1.56 per package with a single card. I also combine shipping, every item after the 1st is $0.50 and when shipping hits $5.00 the rest is free. Lastly when the total bill is $25.00 or more I include DC. Personally I feel that $3.00 is very fair when shipped properly.

I think it would be beneficial to ebay and to sellers if there was a way to offer discount shipping for cards that are base, and sell for less than the cost of shipping. Much like how it is on sportlots. With the stipulation being that if you accept the discount shipping, you rate them in a secondary discount shipping category with the understanding that it's discounted. Over time if someone is abusing the system and doing a REALLY poor job of even shipping in a PWE then people will leave complaints. Inventories of base cards would move much more quickly on ebay than anywhere else.

I've bought many many base cards on other sites that came in PWEs and they were all fine. For something so cheap I'd much rather go that route.

I received a Super today in a PWE...seller paid a whole 88 cents shipping.

I guess I'm okay with it because it arrived safely, but it warrants a cringe when it arrives that way with certain cards...

checkoutmycards.com is nice for base and inserts as you can combine all shipping from multiple sellers. You can also offer up to 50% on every card there.

sportlots.com is also nice when you find one seller who has a lot of cards you need.
