I know there are some used redemption cards that have some value
I sold some Harper for more than I thought I would but this auction just baffles me

http://www.ebay.com/itm/331195314398?item=331195314398&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:BID&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2785

The title & the description both state that this is a used /redeemed card

Its up to $52 and both bidders have high feedback ratings of 2697 & 532

Is this the bidding of hard core set collectors or as the disclaimer the seller put in his auction - someone
trying to buy this redemption and try to scam Topps into thinking they pulled this card and somehow the code has been stolen ??

Heres his disclaimer : You are agreeing that you will not in any way or method, contact Topps to fraudulize this redemption, claiming that the code originally belonged to you,or that it was in a hobby pack that you purchased. Anyone claiming that the redeemed card was stolen or lost,or wrongly states "this code has already been used" and originally belonged to them is committing Fraud, and I will prosecute thru authorities in your local area, thru Ebay,Paypal, and seek Remedy thru Civil Claims Court, and you will be liable for any and all court costs, and transportation costs. You will be charged a Damages Fee of $850.00,which is the Value of the card represented by this Redemption Card.

It really sounds crazy that someone would buy this card and try to scam Topps (Is Topps really that stupid?) but it wouldn't surprise me..

If the price was right .... Would you try it ??

Maybe I'm just pessimistic but honestly I would just assume it wouldn't work and wouldn't try.

Not to say it necessarily wouldn't though, I don't know.

I still see an active listing as well. I suppose a collector of that player may see value in it. I keep all of the redemption cards for the few cards I have bought and redeemed. To me, they just go with the redemption card as a set.

That one doesn't say anything about being redeemed already or are you just asking what you think that one might go for after it is redeemed?

I'm sorry I wasn't implying that this auction was a used redemption

I was just wondering what a used redemption that had odds of 1:1,000,000 was worth ?

it gotta be a rare card - if the redeemed card sells for over $2,000 what's this worth ?

There are several redemption cards I'd pay $50 for in a heartbeat, simply to have the rare item in my collection.
