It's a football card. I know. But IDK much about him and he's backing up a banged up Brady this year so idk if it's worth trading to get the Votto

I would take the Votto and run.
I would expect the O'Connell to sell $150 if he turned into a Cassel. But really does anybody think what happened to Brady will happen again? And if the Votto base version is selling for $52 with 4 days left, what would the Red Refractor /25 be?

I did the trade. It just seems amazing that the Votto base is at $52 with 4 days left. On pace to sell for over $150. Which means the value of the Red could be $350-$400

No offense but you are reaching for the stars. I have no clue why the base auto of Votto is where it is at, could be b/c he doesn't sign much? IDK. No way the red auto #'d/25 is worth $350. If the base autos consistently sell for $50 (I doubt it), then the red auto should fetch around $100. The Longoria sold for like $100 if I remember correctly and he's the hottest non-prospect right now not named Pujols.

id say the red auto is worth about $75. The base you mention must be getting some "help"

I probably would have held the O'Connell gold refractor auto. Heck, look at how some of Aaron Rodgers rookie autos have held up since '05. He didn't get the call until this past season. If O'Connell can get on and get some PT, that would be one of the cards to have of him. Oh well, as long as you are happy.

The Votto base is a short print (since it's a B group auto) and very hard to find. I'm collecting the finest moments auto set and that's one of the ones I'm missing. Even though it isn't numbered there really is a smaller differential in print run of all base B group autos and the red refractor version which is numbered to 25. The B group base autos are 1:61 mini boxes, while the refractors are 1:68 mini boxes. The A group base autos are much more common at 1:10 mini boxes. You got a steal on that trade.

If you are flipping the Votto for quick cash, then you made a good trade

you can't compare oconnel to aaron rodgers, the talent gap there is large.

you cant even compare him to the Cassell situation. What happened with Cassell does not happen very often at all.

and to say that an item on ebay is "on pace" to sell for something tells me that you don't understand ebay.

I probably would take the O'Connell - about the only cards in football that have a chance to go up after release are backup QBs (I'm overly generalizing, of course). He's no Rodgers, but he's got great football IQ, and he'll catch on as a starter at some point. And that's all you need.

I am high on O'Connell and I plan on stocking up on some of his autos (SP Authentic, Triple Threads, and Bowman Chrome). Votto's Auto's right now do not feel to me like they are at the prices they should be. I feel they are too high.

I'm confused now. You don't know much about him, but you're high on him? You plan on stocking up, but you traded a low print run version? You think Votto prices should be lower, so you got one at an inflated value?

I'm not trying to be a jerk; I'm clearly missing something here.
