Is this a parallel that beckett doesn't list?

1990's star player collectors plase look at these two auctions and see the major difference in the background. Is this the flash, angle, or something else to create the same card to look like 2 different cards? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Even if it is a new parallel, don't rely on Beckett to have it catalogued. I made a post a few weeks back as I was pulling together a checklist for my Lankford player collection - I began with the "complete" checklist from Beckett and had to add no less than 25 parallels that were not listed. These were true parallels as well, gold press proofs, world series stamped cards....not just color variations or oddballs.

IMO, Beckett's checklist is a good place to start, but far from being a complete work.

I'm pretty sure there is only one version to this card. They look more like the first auction in hand (which, IMO, looks a ton better) - but I've had them scanned to look like the second,

BTW, these are really eye catching cards. I have a Ripken and Griffey somewhere

Different scanners can make cards look different, but they look really different. Beckett's checklist is compiled mostly from info given to them by the card companies, and may or may not be complete or updated. If Fleer slid an extra parallel into that set and didn't tell them, it could be legit and uncatalogues.

Here's my Ripken and Griffey. IP they look brighter/shinier (like the 1st auction)... but don't scan to well.

Hummmm......
Like smapdi said, different scanners can cause different results but that is such a drastic change. I keep looking at both scans and just don't see how that's the same type of card. If you already have the normal version "1st link" you could buy the other and compare. Not like you'd be out alot of money and it's something that seems like it'd be worth the gamble.

That and the rest of us 90's collectors would really appreciate the confirmation/deconfirmation of that!

After taking a look at mine, it seems the 2 links are the same card. They are kind of like the Sportsflix cards. At one angle they have a certain look (link 1) and at another angle they have another look (link 2). I'm 99.99% sure they are the same.

Both are the same card.

Looking at the scanned Ripken and Griffey above looks like a combo of the 2 auction scans. I think it just depends on the scanner.

btw, Nice Griffeys there John.

Players collectors of 90's stars relax. I can confirm along with some of you this is the same card. I have both of them in my possesion and the "blue" version is not blue at all. It looks just like the other one in person. If I lay them side by side they look completely different, however, when I hold them at opposite angles they then look alike. Great cards though. No need to go and start searching.
