hi, everyone. I was wondering if anyone knows if this left handed pitching prospect of the Cardinals had Tommy John surgery? He didn't pitch in September and it was rumored that he was going to have the surgery. I've searched in ESPN and MLB but there aren't any new information of Garcia since August, so if someone with other sources could fill me in I would really appreciate it.

I haven't heard anything regarding if the surgery was done successfully or anything, but I know it's 99.9% sure he'll be out all of 2009.

I'm sure he had it however.

Thanks for the replies. It's not very common to have good Mexican prospects and now that he *** a couple they ran with an awful luck.
Gallardo missed almost 2008 completely and now Garcia out of 2009. That means also no WBC

Garcia is still only 22.

Pretty sure Haime did have TJ surgery. I know he'll be out for all of 09.
