As he should have been. I'm really happy for him.

I am going to be honestly selfish here, and admit that I am frustrated and irritated with ESPN's coverage of the Cubs this season. I wouldn't say jealous, but it drives me nuts that anytime something decent happens with the Cubs it is covered for hours upon hours, and made such a big deal of nationally. And the Cardinals just get overlooked. Always. It's like this every season. If Michael Wacha threw a no-hitter tomorrow, it'd get one mention on SportsCenter and that would be the end of it. It wouldn't get post after post on FaceBook, and replayed over and over on SportsCenter. On my iPhone drop down menu last night, the entire screen was covered with post after post of Arietta articles. I get it man, the national media is dying for the Cubs to be good. It's just frustrating to me how much the Cardinals get overlooked. And it happens every season. It was the Pirates getting headlines over the Cardinals in 2013, when they shouldn't have been. This season has been all about the Cubs, when the Cardinals have been the most dominate team in both leagues all season long. Randal Grichuk is having a better rookie season than Kris Bryant, but nobody talks about him.

I don't want to sound bitter and like I'm complaining, I'm really not trying to. I'm just a frustrated Midwestern fan sick of the national media.

I'm worried about the Cardinals in the playoffs, honestly. I don't think they did enough to bolster the club at the deadline.

I'm still holding out hope for the Gaints to surge here in the last month.

During a recent ESPN game 4 of the 5 guys said they would start Lester in the play-in game, basing it mostly on his playoff experience. Aside from the issue you mention, the other is that Arrieta/Montero is far better than the automatic 2 outs that Lester/Ross represents in the batting order.
