James Shields to the White Sox Trade In Serious Talks

SD will be getting $ relief (but will pay down portion). Chisox said no to Tim Anderson or other top prospects.

Apparently that is all Shields is worth...a pay cut to the team.

Well the Sox didn't have to give up anything significant to get him at least but now they have to pay for a portion of that terrible contract.

Erik Johnson was International League MVP (Pitcher) last year. If you're going to tank and give up a pitcher you paid $58 million a year ago for, you could get worse prospects back.

I've always liked Johnson and wish he could've pitched like he did in the minors in the big leagues.
