Anyone recall recent hitters who missed their first professional year and how they responded? I know there are numerous pitchers and I know Jarek Cunningham from the 08 draft had a similar situation, but I can recall anyone else.

Hank Conger - He hurt himself in Instructs and was given the option of getting surgery but instead waited until the next season to re-injury himself.

Conger had about 300 ABs in each of his first two years. Mitchell is likely to have 0.

well in jared's case no.....

I have a co-worker whose dad is getting his foot cut off next week after having three surgeries due to his body rejecting the bonding of the tendon two years later. Same injury accept he had a car back over his foot and tear the tendon. Ming's problems is due to his foot not healing correctly and not having the stregthen to support his own weight.

I'm hoping to pick up a couple of his cards now and also that he has a quick and full recovery. He was one of the guys who impressed me in spring training. I only have a base auto.

My 46 BDP autos = as Jared was carted off field

Im not sure why any prospector would have 46 autos of one player.

Especially ones that werent cheap to begin with.

This is the down side of prospecting, and now you are sitting on these for a year.

If you don't have the stomach, or the fiscal means, to bear it when crap like this happens - get out now.

For every Evan Longoria and Joe Mauer there are 20 Jared Mitchells and Mark Priors.
