Looks like he hurt his thumb and has been playing through it, despite having his swing affected.

I heard about the bad thumb, but I'm not convinced that can account for all the strikeouts. He's been swinging at stuff that he laid off of the entire month of May. I think he's drifted in his approach, or maybe he's needs a day or 2 off as was already mentioned.

20 straight games without a day off. Currently on an 11 game road trip. Considering he's 20 and a rookie, yea I can see why he is struggling some. Oh, but he did just double home a run off a broken bat in the 1st inning.
