I have been looking for him for a very long time. I google him 2-3 times a week. All I ever see is Houston fans blogging about how terrible their GM is. Today I searched, and I finally found him!
Ex-major leaguer stymies Explorers
At first I was a little panicky. I thought he was actually lost in the hills or something.
But no, he was pitching against a team called the Explorers!
Back in 2001 I met Jason Jennings. He was a pitcher for the Sky Sox, the Rockies AAA team in Colorado Springs. I wasn't too impressed by that, and when I met him... neither was he! He was very humble and happy to have made it all the way to AAA... not at all what I was expecting. Anyway, our brief discussion on cards is the reason I dusted off my old Rickey collection and started collecting again. He made it to the Rockies and won ROY in 2002, that was awesome! He had a very nice career with the Rockies, and then everything changed. He sucked in Houston, and I feel bad for the Astros, but it really wasn't Jason's fault, or the GM who traded for him. He needed a surgery, but nobody knew it yet. Another year of sucking brought another surgery. I was hoping to see him sign with somebody before Spring Training, or just show up somewhere to try out or whatever... I couldn't find him anywhere. Glad to see he's still alive and pitching, and not lost in the hills...
