Jason Kendall Signs Minor League Deal with KC

Not sure how I missed this one but looks like Kansas City just resigned Jason Kendall, 38, to a minor league contract. So guess he's not quite ready to pack it in, but a nearly 40 year old catcher that at one point had a 961 at bat streak without a HR. Maybe to help out the young pitching staff?

I always liked Kendall. Not a great player but I always liked how he played. He is going to be a great help to their younger players if thats what he is there for.

I've always liked him because for a catcher he rarely strikes out which is awesome! He always hit for decent average and could steal a bag here and there. Fun fact of the day: Kendall is 5th all time in HBP.

Wow...2 straight years of being hit 31 times....talk about taking one for the team.

Kendall was often hit because the dude crowded the plate. He was especially fond of poking his front elbow into the zone with that big elbow pad he wore, and wasn't afraid of the ball hitting him. Heard an announcer bicker about it during a game once.

Yeah I figured with that many HBP he was a plate crowder but wasn't sure because he didn't usually play against the Sox, lol. Good thing he wore an elbow pad, eh?
