Who would you pick between the two

Both have played tremendously well, but I would take Jay. From watching him, he seems to be the best OF Prospect in the game right now, although, Jacoby is still a bad dude!

If you chose other, wanna tell why and who it would be?

It depends on what you are looking for out of your OF. Bruce is more of a middle of the order, HR, RBI, guy, and Ellsbury is your lead-off, SB, runs, guy.

I'm a Red Sox fan, but I don't even see much of a debate from this question. I would think it is Bruce without a doubt.

I'm sorry, but Justin Upton is still the best young outfielder in the game. We haven't seen the potential scratched yet.

watching upton play every game and seeing him live is alot different than his scouting reports and he has a long way to go.

Bruce and Jacoby are lightyears ahead of Justin

Agreed. At the moment true.

I understand you have watched Upton more than most, but did you also watch Bruce and Ellsbury nearly every game? I don't see how you can say they're lightyears ahead of Upton. Ellsbury is far superior to either defensively right now, but he's not the same type of player as the other two. As for Bruce vs. Upton, I can't see a strong case being made that Bruce is better. Conversely, I can't see a strong case being made that Upton is better than Bruce, except in raw talent. That being said, I simply think Upton is better and will be better, he's who I would take.

Those two dont even belong in the same sentence. Ellsbury was just plain bad offensively last year in a full season at the age of 24. As a leadoff guy, his .336 OBP was atrocious had he had an OPS+ of 87. The steals are great, but it doesnt make up for his deficiencies offensively. At the age of 21, Bruce had a better overall season (OPS+ of 97) mainly because of his power. He needs to improve his patience, like Ellsbury, but his power already makes up for that. If/when he gains that patience and starts to walk more, he will be an elite outifleder. Ellsbury needs to work on his patience merely to become a league average offensive player.

Ellsbury is the better defensive player, but considering the improvement that Bruce will have this year, the two still wont be close in terms of value.
