Regardless of "what is right", I will say this...

Any seller that is charging $2 or more for shipping one single card and ships in a plain white envelope and a 42 cent stamp is asking for negatives - no matter the condition of the card received.

You want to ship in a PWE, label your auctions with it and charge $1.99 and lower and I'll gladly leave positives. But...if you want to chase negatives, I'll be more than happy to oblige.

To me whatever money you are saving by not using DC and bubblemailer you're bound to lose when one of your PWE gets lost and you have to cover it.

I've never left a negative but if somoene is charging $4 and sending the card in a PWE, they will get a negative from me, especially if it is a high dollar card. Even if the card was recieved undamaged, it's worth it to warn potential buyers that there card has a greater chance of being lost/damaged/whatever. It's just a bad move and certainly isn't a positive transaction for me.

You can slice it and dice it a billion ways but the end result is what your looking for.Not how its shipped. Now if the end result(which in this case would be the card undamaged) is not attainable because of the shipping...then you have a reason for the neg.At least that is my opinion. Many people do different things and they are entitled to do so.If paying $4 for shipping for an item that comes in a pwe ticks you off very badly...then by all means its your right to leave a negative I suppose but it is my opinion that that is going overboard.I would be upset with the seller but I got what I paid for which is the card and the card was shipped to me(which is why I paid the shipping) so there really can be no hangups for me on the deal.If I don't like the way it was shipped I will leave a note in the feedback and not buy any more from the seller.

The point is...you don't get to decide what the cost is to ship or how it comes. Its up to the seller. As long as they are not going too overboard on the prices for shipping versus the method in which they ship then you really can do nothing more than stop buying from them if your unhappy.I am not sure where ebay draws the line on gouging or what price range but thats about it.I do think its a little sad to pay so little and make so much just because your cutting corners as a seller but people's business practices speak for themselves. If someone has bad business practices then eventually it will tick enough people off and their rep will grow as a bad one.But you also have to remember some people don't mind receiving a pwe as long as they get their item. There is nothing you can do but quit buying and warn other potential bidders. But if they have done nothing against ebays rules then you really can't get too crazy. They did what they were supposed to.If you as the customer are not happy...do what people have been doing since the dawn of time and take your business elsewhere.

I doubt it, particularly if you don't send a lot of extremely high end cards. This is the same concept with insurance. In the long run, the expected value of insurance is negative. Same with gambling. This is how insurance companies, casinos, and the post office make their money. But, if a buyer pays for insurance, I'll send it insured. How often do I pay for insurance for something that costs less than $100? Never.

I never said anything about insurance.
