It's a great story. The reason we have embraced him is because he is the antithesis of what the NBA has become. He's not some 6'8'' athletic freak. He's Asian, and not even an obscenely tall one like Yao Ming. He didn't just go to Harvard. He stayed for 4 years and graduated Harvard. He's not a lottery pick like John Wall. He was undrafted. He's not a selfish brat who blew his money on drugs and hookers. He lives on his brother's couch. But, I don't think he would be getting 1/2 the attention he's getting if he hadn't turned the Knicks around. He proved to us that there is still some role in the NBA for fundamentals, energy, and creativity, that it's not just about loading your roster with superstars that specialize in 1-on-1 isolation. It gives the non-Lakers, Celtics, Heat fans of the world hope.

His rise reminds me of when Kurt Warner become an MVP for the Rams in 1999. Similar story as well, starred in college, undrafted, cut by original team, starred in inferior league(Kurt's Arena Football to Lin's D-League), then by some sort of circumstance with injuries and the coach trying to save his job put them in.

Agreed. With the added linsanity of being Asian and playing in the biggest US market. These stories epitomize the spirit of America, pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps and overcoming adversity.

And it's great for Ivy League basketball as well. If you look at what Cornell did in the NCAA tourney 2 years ago, the emergence of Lin, and Harvard currently ranked in the top 25 (likely to finish in the top 20 with their remaining schedule), it really puts Ivy League sports on the map (the fact Harvard has produced more Presidents than NBA players has not gone unnoticed). Despite each of the 8 Ivy League schools being ranked among the top 15 colleges in the country for academics, people forget that the Ivy League was started as and still is a sports conference, the same as the Big 10 or Pac 12. I'm embarassed to say that I went through 4 years at Cornell without watching a single basketball game, even as they were giving away tix for free in the dining halls. And I graduated in 2007. It's amazing what has happened in the 4 years since then. Great time to have a story like this at a time when schools like UConn are getting the spotlight for the poor academic performance of its basketball players.

Taiwainese high end baseball always goes for a ton as does high end basketball. Makes sense that this would happen.

I know that Lin is a great story about being ready to play when given your shot, but do people really think he will be a superstar in the league? I know there is a huge Asian contengent that love their basketball, but to pay $1,950.00 for a sticker autograph is truly insane. What is that old saying about a fool and his/her money?

I am very happy for the seller because it shows us that all it takes is for a player to get hot over a period of time and people will spend insane amounts of money on their cards. These people are truly speculators and even those who bought in at 300-500 are making money, if they don't get greedy. Buying in at 2K is crazy!!!!!!!!!!

Finally a GOOD NBA story, maybe he can start to help get the league back to the basics - basketball is still pretty unwatchable nowadays compared to the 80's.
