I've been sticking mostly to cards, but this auction caught my eye. The sellers really went to great lengths to prove a legit auto (granted, they could go to great lengths to fake stuff too). My real question is in regards to the jersey. They state the retail price of an authentic jersey is $199.99, but I was wondering if this is a high quality jersey or a knock-off. There is some debate on blowoutcards forums about the NFLPA logo on cheap jerseys (this one appears to have the cheap NFLPA logo).

Thanks for the input.

By the look on Wells' face, it's a knock-off.

In all seriousness, I'd pass on it if there is any doubt in your mind.

Really in the end, the only real certificate of authenticity is your own opinion. If it's real to you, enjoy it. If you have a doubt, stay away.

I'd buy the auto without hesitation. Just wondered about 'official' jerseys versus cheaper ones. I realize its not game-used or anything, but I know the companies make higher end and lower end stuff. I have no idea how to tell them apart.

95+% of auto'd jerseys on ebay are knock off ones. With that said, it looks like a good one. They are trying to make money so obviously they have to skimp on the jersey since they are paying the athlete for his sig and still trying to turn a profit on ebay. If you intend to frame, you will not be able to tell afterward anyways so it is not that big of a deal IMO.

By the same token - what kind of bootleg jersey is going to cost $199.99? lol So I really don;t know where they came up with that price.

I'd probably just ask the seller - if you're nice about it and are obviously interested hopefully they'll give a straight up response. I guess personally it all comes down to the final cost - if it's going to end at a really good price than I'd just go for it. Worst case scenario - even if it is a real good knock-off - it's not like you'll be wearing it, so it'd probably look just as good framed.

* Also - I just checked on nfl.com since I know jersey price varies by team. Cardinals authentics are only $260 customized. And having a stock player jersey is usually a bit less than the customized (though still not sure it'd be $200). And on a side note - all jersey's are buy one get one half off. Tempted to find some people to go in on that with. :D

Heh. Guess I should have checked out nfl.com first. They have a pretty clear jersey buying guide that distinguishes between authentic, premier and replica jerseys.

I've always been tempted to buy a custom LBJ Browns jersey.

No true authentication, I wouldn't buy it. All he says you get is a picture of Beanie signing it. Next month he will have another one with the same exact picture. I wouldn't touch it. For years you may have yourself wondering if it truly is legit.

I didn't buy it, but I did check out their website. They've sold two other jersey autos over the last year in the same manner, and all have had individualized pics and different Cardinals jerseys. Heck, even Wells was dressed differently on the signing days.

In the end, I'm sticking to cards...unless I get gear autoed in person. Good thing I work with his sister.

EDIT: Received a second chance offer a few hours after auction closed. I'd guess someone shill bid the thing up as high as possible.
