I so wished I bought it on eBay when it was listed as a redemption...sold for $1200 or so, right?

You would have been ripped off if you had bought it, the seller redeemed it before selling. Contacts at Topps had to help Wossa actually get the card.

Would you care to divulge that seller's name, so we'll know not to buy redemptions from him?

I don't know, I just know one of the big two redemptions (Flores or Montero), and believe it was Jesus was the one that Topps Customer service had to help him with redeeming since it already had been.

that is so far from the truth. the seller had nothing to do with redeeming this card.

Burgin is right, as I found out today, allegedly a employee redeemed them before they were packed out and Wossa was helped by Topps to make it right. I hadn't been able to post this yet, was going to when I got home.

getting pretty warm now. it was definately a crappy situation all the way around.

i just hated to see the seller get a bad rap here for something no fault of his own. i don't even remember the name of the seller but already someone was asking who it was so they don't buy from him and it wasn't even their fault. it was alot of money to be playing around with though no matter what happened.

Am I the only one that doesn't have a hard-on for this guy?

Not at all.

I would not bat an eye at a high end stamp collector, or a coin collector, or a art collector, or a .... well you get the picture. Obviously he must have a great collection, but personally, I could care less.

Having said that, he seemingly has become somewhat of a icon to the masses here, so I understand their reverance for the guy and his collection.

And to note, I would enjoy seeing said collection in scan form. Must be a pretty sight!

Sheesh. They don't even give it a "Refractor" label on the back, let alone Superfractor. No hologram, either.

::facepalm::

Something else I don't like, and it's not only the Superfractor here, is the BDPP127 on the back looks like a sticker they attached on the back.I have a couple autographs from the set in '07 that has those lame numbered stickers they attached on the back. That's weak Topps.

that is correct, its a sticker. topps renumbered all of those cards because someone didn't sign and they wanted to keep all the card numbers consecutive. there were a few that were renumbered, not just the monteros. as much as topps is blamed, it was a better decision than reprinting the cards and having them all signed again.

To me, it's not a big deal if a couple card numbers aren't consecutive.I doubt many set collectors persue this set much anyway.Aren't there 2-3 skip numbered cards in previous years of Bowman Chrome and Bowman Draft anyway?

Last year, I recall the Holland Superfractor listed, and immediately noticed the ugly miscut sticker number they attached to the back.Probably not important for the die hard Holland/Rangers fan, but it's something that bothers me.

Beautiful card. Has the Sterling Red surfaced?

Yeah, Wossa sent me a pic today that is on my site.

Did he get that graded, or did he buy it that way?

I respect the time and investment taken to procure these cards, but I feel so fortunate that not a single ounce of me desires to own any of those cards.

I've never been in the hobby for money, but if I were to obtain anything like these, they'd be on eBay faster than someone who was putting something on ebay slower than myself.

Not sure, I asked via email, should know later on.

Time to change your title to Wossa Liaison.
