Happy to see him back. It's a long shot with him getting older, but I'd love to see him get to 4000 hits.

That being said, he led the Majors in hits last year at age 38, so if he can still be productive I don't know why he couldn't stick around. He probably needs to move off SS if he's going to keep playing beyond age 40, but that's another discussion.

7-7 in an extra inning affair where he catches the final out while jumping over the center field wall because ichiro lost it in the lights.

After the game, mayor bloomberg presents him with the "welcome back" key to nyc.

Jeter accepts & raises a bottle of coke to which bloomberg is flabbergasted!

The mayor then wrestles the key away causing jeter to fall over the podium.

Fearing he is hurt again, the crowd of reporters chase bloomberg out of the stadium & are joined by the fans outside.

Although not hurt, jeter announces his retirement & immediately is anointed mayor of nyc.

Tmz chases down the mayor who is hiding out in a high rise in nyc with a roid, ana benson & amanda bynes living it up smoking bongs, kissing their image in the mirror & wearing blond wigs.

....or something like that.

This is probably the first time I actually feel bad for the Yankees due to all their injuries this season. I'm shocked they have won as many games as they have after being decimated by injuries all season long.

I figured they would still be good due to their pitching staff which actually hasnt been as good as i thought it would be.
