Sorry, a fairy tale ending is him not sucking all season and that walk off clinching a playoff spot.

Come on man, you're better than that. I know as administrator, you want to make the board more active, but no reason to try to ignite another long Jeter argument, especially in a positive thread.

And a fairy tale ending is a moment, not a season. But you already knew that.

Haha the walk off was pretty cool. Happy for him. I also think it's too bad that the Yankees couldn't make the playoffs in his final season. I mean when I think of the Yankees, I think of domination and it's too bad they were a non topic this year.

Lol that has nothing to do with it at all.

It's a meaningless game other than it being his last at yankee stadium. Was the walk off special? Absolutely but I wouldn't go as far as calling it a fairy tale.

I'm not on my phone now and can type out a better response. This is the last remark from me in this thread as i don't want to ruin this thread any further. Austin, i respect you from what i know of you on the boards here and what you bring to the site but i felt a little offended by your comment. The other thread was to be a debate on all of the claims/stats Olbermann threw out. Its not like i started a random thread saying Jeter sucks. I posted the video because it was something that was getting a lot of talk outside of FCB and i figured it would be something fun to discuss here. Not to mention Jeter is probably the biggest topic in sports these past few weeks.

I don't want to feel like i cant voice my opinion on here anymore because i am an admin and it will be viewed as me trying to boost activity or to achieve some other agenda than participating. Do i want a boost in activity? Of course i do, but i think we all do. Ultimately i am a member like everyone else. I'm here to enjoy the the passion that brought us all together. I just happen to care for this place enough that i have invested in it. Does that mean i shouldn't be allowed to participate and share my thoughts or to have people make false claims about why i post what i do? If that's the case i don't want to be an admin. Because if i cant be involved in discussions what is the point of being here?

My post in this thread was not intended to start any kind of argument but i can understand why it may have been viewed that way. I was merely stating that i didn't see it as a fairy tale ending. Was it a great ending? yes, but it was lacking that little bit extra to make it qualify as fairy tale to me. To me it would be more like Jeter has been hurt most of the season but comes out in his last home game for one AB and gets a walk off hit.

I do apologize as i could have made a better post initially to clarify my thought to make it not seem like i was trying to disrupt the thread. But when you're posting from your phone, its more of a pain than anything to type a long thought out comment.

Go back to celebrating Nothing more to see here

Hi Mox. Thanks for the well thought-out post and explanation. I shouldn't have lashed out at you. I was just tired of reading all the Jeter-bashing on various sports sites today and I wrongly took it out on you.

After a decade-plus of Jeter bashing (much of it warranted), I thought today would be the one day in which his positive contributions could be celebrated.

But I should have respected your opinion. It was wrong of me to mention your admin status because you're just as valauble and respected of a poster as any of us. Please don't let my stupid comment make you think twice about expressing your opinion.

Now, back to the Jeter lovefest!

Never was a big Jeter fan but what a great way to end his career. If i was him I wouldnt even pinch hit in Boston, just call it a season after last night.
