I wasn't even aware the Cubs had a general manager. I always assumed a spider monkey wearing Harry Caray glasses used a Magic 8-ball to make front office decisions

1) wasn't making excuses for Zambrano

2) Hendry did not "make" the Soriano deal. this is widely known

3) the Cubs will always be known as losers, to Cardinals fans

4) I don't give a ****

The better question is how are you going to react if the Cubs ever win the WS? Are you going to dance in the street and be overjoyed? Or is too little too late? Is one championship worth the century of pain? Will all be forgiven once they win?
Apparently you missed Boston in 20004.

~Holy ****, 20004?

Boston went a LONG time without winning.

See, there is hope Cubs fans. The Sox winning was actually 18,000 years in the future, which means THEY will have the longest tenure of futility in all of baseball. Hope is only 10,000 years from now. ~

On a side note, this is great news for Cubs fans, but absolutely terrible from a management/ownership stand point since they basically screwed themselves over by not having Hendry do a DAMN thing at the trade deadline.

You don't get it. It doesn't matter if the Cubs win 3 WS in the next 5 years, they are still always going to be known as losers. "In fairness to Jim." Why are you always making excuses? Jim Hendry did the deal for Soriano. You were making excuses for Zambrano, too. ::facepalm::

First of all I didn't just type that, it was over 7 hours ago. I'm having a difficult time understanding what you "just typed." You do realize that you should capitalize the first letter of a new sentence don't you? Did you mean to say "I do some dumb ASS ranting?" I'm not the grammar police because God knows I make my share of grammatical errors but do you think you could either learn the language or make some appearance of effort if you do understand English? I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say it would be appreciated.

You did manage to type something correct in your incoherent rambling though, what I said did beat anything you typed. Stay out of the big kid conversations… they're not for you.

yES I DO. kNOW WHAT? we are not suppose to use cuss words. AS is just as effective. as for the cap on the 1st letter in a sentence? i give a rats as. better yet i could give a excrement. if the Cubs win 3 WS in the next 5 years, Card fans would have no place to hide

Actually it is not as effective. To clear up any confusion in that sentence I actually meant "as." You see how leaving the 's' off of one word makes no sense if it actually changes the meaning? You couldn't give a rat's... well, you know. The problem with that is you really should because you come off as ignorant. Why should anyone care about what you have to say if you don't respect them enough to put forth an effort to not sound like a moron?

If the Cubs won 3 out of the next 5 World Series I wouldn't complain. Do you know why I wouldn't complain, because they would still have half as many WS titles as my favorite team.

Please do yourself a favor and don't respond to this because I could pick you apart all night and I really don't have the energy.

Hendry had his highs - fleecing the Pirates for Aramis Ramirez, Matt Garza - as well as his lows, i.e. Milton Bradley, Jeff Samardzija signing, Kevin Gregg, etc. No matter what, he always took the high road and never bad mouthed a player or ownership and a very small part of me is sad to see him go. He was a class act. Everybody points to the Soriano contract as a mistake and I'm sure in the long run it will prove to be (if it hasn't already). However, everyone forgets when he single handedly carried the team on his back and essentially HR'd the Cubs into the playoffs (only to be swept out by the Dodgers :benson: ). If the Cubs win, Hendry looks like a genius, but this wasn't the case. I think everyone can agree that we need a fresh set of eyeballs on this roster.

Mozzie, I'm pretty sure you have posted more about the Cubs then you have the Cardinals. Are you jealous that despite the Cardinals ten world series championships, they still don't have close to as many fans as the Cubs? Does it make you cry inside that our field, 100 years Busch Stadiums elder, is a more desirable location to watch a ballgame?

You remind me of the ugly, insecure girl in high school. You always gossip about the other girls in an attempt to try to make yourself seem more attractive.

ChasHawk, don't feed the troll.

Th easiest way to turn an average cardinals fan into a level 10 d-bag on these boards? Start a thread about the Cubs. Jesus Mozz, you come across as the worlds biggest toolbag, seriously. You prove it over and over again.

Why can't the thread actually be about the firing of the GM?

For people saying it was 5 years too late, I disagree. The cubs had won 3 division titles in 7 years, of course they are going to give him some time.

I have optimism that they will hire a true "baseball man" as president and get some leadership in the freaking franchise!

Once again a bunch of clueless Cubs fans with no reading comprehension decide to chime in about something they know nothing about. Why don't all of you go back and read this thread again. The person that brought up the Cardinals wasn't me, it was a Cubs fan talking **** about what the Cards, Brewers and Sox fans would do if...

Why would I or any Cardinals fan care about the size of a team's fan base? Why would any team be jealous of that piss stench you call Wrigley Field? You Cubs fans use the same ridiculous arguments thread after thread after thread. Go back and re-read any thread you want where a spat between me and a Cubs fan takes place and you will find that it is a Cubs fan that starts talking the smack, not me. I just finish it because my arguments are based on fact, tradition, and winning.

I love getting into it with Cubs fans; it's like picking a fight with a cripple.
