Always two sides to the story.
Some people clearly have an agenda.
I also find it laughable that people who have never met the man can formulate an opinion on his character.
Very shallow.
I have encountered him several times and have found him to be engaging and congenial.

Crash Davis said:I listened to the whole interview with Rice and Francessa. Clearly, the author of the OP's story did not. At the very end of the interview, Francessa forgot to mention the charity Rice was associated with, and then Rice got a word in edgewise with him (imagine anybody getting a word in with Francessa - he is an egomaniac) and promoted his charity for which he was soliciting $10 donations.
Based on this, I would think that he was offered the money for his charity and took it in exchange for a couple of autographs.
I'm not a fan at all, but after listening to Francessa badger and bait him about race and his reputation of being a jerk, Rice came off as a halfway decent guy who resisted the oppportunity to play the race card.
But this is the Internet, so anybody can write anything they want and there will always be a bunch of lazy and/or naive folks who will believe anything they read without doing two minutes of due diligence.
