Ted Williams - "(Joe) DiMaggio was the greatest all-around player I ever saw. His career cannot be summed up in numbers and awards. It might sound corny, but he had a profound and lasting impact on the country."

There's no block on the android app ::facepalm::

He had an even longer streak in the minors. He was an awful player.

Dimaggio hit .408 during the streak with 15 HRs and 55 RBIs.

Even considering the OP, this might be one of the dumbest posts I've ever seen on here.

Some of the responses make me wonder if people who post here actually watch baseball... :?

All that while missing 3 years to the war smack-dab in the prime of his career. If you can look at those numbers and say that he's not one of the best players of all-time, you shouldn't be here embarrassing yourself discussing baseball.
And his last 4 years he was injured. And the fact that he was a righty in Yankee Stadium.

Only player in baseball history to make the All Star team every single season of his career.

I don't post on this side too often, but even I know enough to not take what jeremy says very seriously.

It's not even about what Jeremy said. Some of the other posts in this thread are making me question certain members sanity/baseball accumen.

While Jeremy is Jeremy, the entire "statistical anomaly" is absolutely true.

To me, it's like the celebration of the cycle. If a player hits for the cycle, they get more publicity and excitement than a player who hit 2 HR and 2 doubles.

But Joe DiMaggio accomplished a TON more than just the hitting streak. He is quite literally one of the top baseball players to ever play the game. There is no statistical anomaly that encompasses Joe DiMaggio. Just ask Ted Williams.

I don't think he'd have much to say.
