Joe Mauer hit two more homeruns last night and has really added to his power numbers this year. IMO he is on his way to a HOF career. I dare say HOF primarly because of his fielding position. So my question now is based on him being a catcher, is it possible that Mauer's chrome rookie could overtake David Wright's in value?

Mauer is a catcher with a history of injuries playing in an ok market.

Both may end up as HOFers, but the above has me leaning toward Wright for long term value.

Mauer is hot right now and Wright is cold.

Historically, Wrights have sold for more and I'd rather buy his at current prices than pay what I'd need to get a Mauer.

If wright can't find his power stroke back than U can forget him being HOF. The closest person I can think of is Scott Rolen who had a lot of HR early and now become more of avg hitter.
