Well im watching sport center and they had a thing saying people that could come to Dame.

Brian Kelly is still there.
Gary Paterson no chance he just signed a long deal.
Then he mentioned Butch Davis is a legitimate contender.

And then he said some people close to the university said not to look out these people.
Pat Fitzgerald
Krik Frentz- I highly doubt he will he just signed a contract untill 2015 last year. I tell you i will be one pissed person if he leaves.

And Jim Harbaugh.

Who do you guys think will come? I think it will be Brian Kelly honestly.

I know Stoops said he is staying at Oklahoma, but I think this is an opportunity too good pass up for him.

What else does he have to prove at OU?

Already won a National Championship, few BCS Bowl Wins, boat load of Big 12 championships.

He could go to Notre Dame, face the toughest challenge of his career, bring back the storied program to greatness, and cement himself as one of the greatest coaches of all time.

From all the local sports talk I've been listening to, it sounds like Kelly would be one of the "if all else fails" options.
Seems like most of the sports guys in the area are not sold on him - either that he's simply a "flavor of the month" kind of candidate, that his personality and way he deals with administration is too much like Weis....heck he was even criticized because he has publically been pro-choice and they weren't sure how that would go over.

Not that local sports fans and media know what there talking about, but from all of this it really sounds like if they end up with Kelly - it's going to seem like the past few hires. We all know they'll open up the bank, but I'm not sure anyone is going to bite. It's going to be very interesting. Out of that list, I think Davis is most intriguing (there may be no shot with some of the others).

...start rant...

I think that whoever they hire, they will fail. Nd cannot recruit like they used to.

It pains me to say, but the elite teams are in warm climates (Florida, USC, Texas...). Why would a 5 star recruit come to a crap factory like South Bend, IN? It is dreary there and the girls are nasty...trust me, I lived in SB for 18 years.

If a good player wants to play in a cold environment, they can go to Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Nebraska, Oregon, Oregon State, etc. The only thing nd has to pitch these recruits is their tradition and nothing more.

No matter who nd hires, they will have unrealistic expectations for them and they will just be fired in 4-5 seasons. I guarantee you that they will not offer another long term deal after year 1 like they did with Weis (who only did that well in his first season because of Ty Willingham's recruits).

Face it, nd football is DEAD...

...end rant...

If Brian Kelly is going to come to ND i think right now is a bad time to express the feeling. Because of the games coming up.
