What has happened to the love for this fella? I remember his Sterling Ref Auto's were once around $30~ and base sterlings 10-15. He did not hit for a great average (.257 last year) but showed pretty decent power (8 HR, 38 2B) between Hi A and AA. He will probably be starting the year at AA Frisco, and he is only 22. What is scaring people away from him?

Not that people are scared away from him but rather the hype from him hitting a HR off Roger Clemens in one of his rehab starts wore off.

Weak batting average and only 8 homers over 500 at bats, plus he plays 3rd base, where Michael Young is now entrenched.
He's nowhere close to BA's top 10 Rangers prospects list.
He hasn't lived up to his potential and he's not standing out in a jam-packed Rangers organization.

He wishes he hit a HR off of Clemens! I believe we have a mistaken identity here...he did hit a HR in the Futures game against Guerra I think, but the guy that hit the HR against Clemens was John Drennen, not Whitty.

I don't think anyone actively collects him. I have a few cards of his that I bought a while back...hoping he can rebound this year. He just needs to get more aggressive at the plate...if he can do that, he can be decent.

oh ok, cool. well i have this if anyone is interested. pulled it and dont really prospect so i dont know much about him

I feel that this year is his MAKE or BREAK year. The 3B situation in Texas is bleak so if he can breakout, that would be a big step up for him.
