With the game tonight over, Lester's regular season should be over.

15-8 3.41 ERA. 225 K's (record for a Sox lefty.) He had a rough start, but went 11-3 from June on with monthly ERA's of:

June: 1.85
July: 2.60
August: 2.41
September: 3.07

Really solid season for one of the easiest players in baseball to root for (and this coming from a Yankee fan.)

He's going to give guys like Peavy, Greinke, CC, Felix, Halladay (if he stays in the AL) a run for their money for AL CY Young next year

I like Lester a lot. I have been saying that if he can stay healthy he will be the best pitcher in the american league within 3 years... i may be way off, but he has great stuff and seems to get stronger as the game/year go on.

You are not way off. Even before he had his battle with cancer he had the stuff to be a dominant lefty, but ever since he returned he has just had that "it" factor and if he can stay healthy he will be a top pitcher in the AL for years to come

He is an outstanding pitcher and is definitely my favorite Red Sox. Will probably be a top 5 AL pitcher for several years to come baring any major setback.

I too am a Yankee fan but can't help but root for the guy. Except when he's facing the Yankees. I'm not going to lie. When he threw his no-hitter and then hugged Francona I got a little choked up.

I pulled this card back when the product came out and have been rooting for him ever since. It is my best pull ever and like people have said he is a great guy to watch and easy to be a fan of no matter who you like.

Has it been confirmed that Lester is starting Game 1 of the ALDS?

I know it had been confirmed before he came out of his last start early. Im not sure if the slight injury changed anything, but I would be willing to be that he is starting the 1st game.

I wouldn't do that so fast if I were you. Something tells me Peavy has an outstanding season next year.

The AL Central is not the NL West and Peavy has always been a mediocre pitcher away from Petco. I see him having an ERA in the range of 4.50-4.70 next year.

Peavy greatly benefited from pitching in Petco. I think facing AL hitters in a neutral ballpark is going to expose Peavy. I still think he is a very good pitcher, just not a great one

That start last night gave me some hope......it was so nice to see him dominate after that last bad outing and the injury. Now hopefully Beckett can get in his "zone" and the Sox at least have a chance.

42-16 now in his career - and improving each year, so gotta love that.
