Immediate thoughts:
-Machado is not a top 5 prospect
-How can Taijuan Walker have such a bad season compared to last year but move up so much?
-Zack Wheeler over Cole, Hultzen, Skaggs, Taillon, Bradley, and Miller? I would have put all six of them ahead of Wheeler
-Castellanos way too high...I'm a Tiger fan so I like seeing him up there, but he doesn't have the power to be ranked this high right now
-Taveras belongs in the top 5, no questions asked
-No idea how Lindor gets ranked ahead of Hamilton when they play the same position and Hamilton's season dwarfs Lindor's in all regards, granted he's older.
-Franklin is way too high
-Xander Bogaerts has to be top 25, and probably close to the top 10
-Marisnick had a terrible year, he doesn't belong in the top 40

Two that really stood out to me outside the top 40:
-Taylor Guerrieri belongs in the top 30, how he ends up 70th on this list is pretty confusing
-Daniel Norris got absolutely bombed and then bombed and then bombed again. He should be ranked about 500th until he figures out how to not give up 7 runs per start....yet he cracked the top 100? lol.

Fun to look at lists like this, but Mayo always seems to have a bunch of ranks that don't make any sense at all and this year is no different.

I agree with everything but the bolded. Lindor is 3 years younger and other than stolen bases, there is no other tool i would give a nod to Hamilton for. Based on performance, you have a point, but based on pure upside, Lindor is something a bit different.

Two observations that weren't posted above.

1. Jorge Soler at # 77. Yes, he hasn't played a lot yet, but I'm fairly certain he'll rank higher once the other experts weigh in with their lists.
2. No Clayton Blackburn anywhere. Some jokes write themselves.

I haven't clicked the link yet, but after reading ALL THE HYPE's breakdown, not sure I even want to... Bogaerts not in the top 25. I chuckled out loud

I concur with your assessment of hype's assessment. And for the record - because of the podcasts, now when I read your posts I hear your voice in my head.

I hope when you read my posts you hear Batman's voice.

As far as the Taijuan Walker, i would guess its because he had a good 2-3 month stretch of a top 10 prospect inbetween a slow start and a terrible end to the season that are making the overall picture look bad.

He was agressively promoted when you consider he didnt start full time pitching till he was like 17. I would say he's basing the ranking off the performance in the middle of Taijuan's season. He probably will need 2 more years to build up to a FULL season's worth of performance.

Just my thoughts from watching his game scores day by day, vs averaged over a season.

Not reading this list, refuse to. Guys a complete bell end when it comes to prospects and ranking them accurately or fairly. Will wait for the real list 3/2013 from BA.

I'm surprised Choice made a list that high considering his home run total. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Choice fan and I think he's made huge strides at the plate over the past year and half. I wonder if he starts in AA next year.

And as always.... Rosiario should have been higher.
