If anyone that does twitter and follows him could ask how far down the list Barnes was that would be awesome, thanks.

Barnes started out hot, and then faded pretty quickly. I would put any pitcher on that list ahead of him as well. Don't get me wrong Barnes is good just not top 10 rhp yet.

He posted a 2.86 ERA with a 133/29 K/BB in 120 innings this year, with 97 hits and just six homers allowed.

Mayo just gave out his 'next five' list, which is who #s 11-15 were, for RHPs.

In the past, when the Team Top 20 lists have launched (Week of Feb. 4, for those curious), I’ve posted something I called OMG — One More Guy. That, basically, is who would potentially be No. 21 on the list. I thought I should do something similar for the position lists, especially when seeing reaction from some about who is/isn’t on the list.

With that in mind, here are the RHP who would be 11-15, if we were to go that deep:

Julio Teheran, Braves — Star has faded a bit, but still very young and ready for another shot.

Carlos Martinez, Cardinals — Sometimes known as “Little Pedro,” he has electric stuff in smaller pitching frame

Kyle Zimmer, Royals — 2012 first-rounder could move very quickly through the KC system

Aaron Sanchez, Blue Jays — There are those who think he has the most upside among all those young Jays pitchers (current and former)

Kevin Gausman, Orioles — LSU star who went No. 4 overall in last June’s Draft, should join Dylan Bundy in Baltimore in the near future

I think Syndergaard at 10 is silly. That would NEVER happen if he were still on the Jays. I'd take all of the guys on the 11-15 list AND Barnes ahead of him.

And still no Barnes...?
I love Barnes as much as the next Red Sox fan, but he doesn't have ACE projections. Even though I disagree with leaving him out of the top 15, I can understand the reasoning. His ceiling right now is a solid 2 or 3 (Defining 1-2-3-4-5 Starters - Minor League Ball).

He has a ++ fastball, an average curveball with + potential, and fringe average to average changeup. He hasn't developed a fourth pitch yet. In order to climb up, I'd like to see him gain a better command of the curveball, and develop a slider/cutter.

His ceiling can obviously dramatically change if he improves his secondary offerings, and develops an average 4th pitch. Also of note, Barnes wasn't really too far up on the Age-Advancement scale, when compared to most of the pitchers on this list, technically inhibiting his possible ceiling growth.

There is NOTHING wrong with an MLB 2 or 3, and I hope that he reaches that, but based on ceiling alone, I can understand the omission on this list.

(EDIT) Don't get me wrong, Barnes is a very strong prospect IMO, and his floor is certainly higher than others on the list, but I always feel that Mayo weighs ceiling more than floor in these lists.

I'd love to see Martin Perez finally put it all together this year. Used to have a nice stash of him.

Interesting that Skaggs is #1 and Hultzen is #2, yet 46% of voters think Hultzen should be #1. compared to only 12% for Skaggs

For the record, I voted for Skaggs.

I'm pretty surprised at James Paxton being behind Max Fried and Jesse Biddle, Biddle I can understand after last year but I am curious as to how someone who hasn't made a professional start is number three.

He posted a 3.58 era once he moved up to A+, which like I said was a lot colder than his .34 era in five games in A ball.

And here are #s 11-15 on his LHP list:

Sean Gilmartin, Braves — Advanced college lefty made it to Triple-A in his first full season of pro ball.

Casey Crosby, Tigers — He’s had two healthy seasons in a row. Now it’s time for him to produce. Could have future as a reliever.

John Lamb, Royals — Before Tommy John surgery, he was one of the better southpaws in the Minors. All signs point to him reclaiming that status in 2013.

Robbie Erlin, Padres — The undersized lefty the Padres got in the Mike Adams trade missed time with elbow tendinitis, but continues to get people out with command and competitiveness.

Daniel Norris, Blue Jays — He had a rough pro debut, but the 2011 second-rounder has plenty of time to fulfill his enormous potential.
