Jonathan Singleton suspended 50 games for marijuana

People who are saying that he should be suspended because drugs are drugs are idiots. If you honestly think that weed should be a 50 game suspension and that coke or steroids should be the same that is absurd.

It's a 50 game suspension because it's the second time Singleton's been busted for weed. Like it or not, those are the rules. He's not working at a gas station, he's a pro baseball player; there are certain things you just don't get to do anymore when you sign a contract.

Bacon is right, just like I've said...rules are rules, even though MOST of us agree that weed, isnt on the level of bigger drugs, it's drugs nonetheless, it's the 2nd time he has been busted for the SAME thing, and to bacon's point, when you sign a MLB contract, some of the privledges they enjoy off the field, can prove to be illegal, and he broke the rules...

It doesn't matter how you broke the rules, FACT is, he broke the rules, not once, but twice...for the SAME thing...

It's like being in court for driving 57 in a 55mph zone..Even though there is supposed to be the "give you 5mph over deal", FACT is you drove over the spped limit...What you do on your own time, is your own business, but when you are a pro athlete, you go buy the rules, your team sets, and mlb sets, or you can go work at target making $8.00a hr...It's called being a "professional" for a reason...

Everyone is harping how weed, isnt coke, or meth, or heroin, or whatever...The POINT is weed is illegal in mlb, and if you test positive for drugs, even if it's NOT on the level of other drugs, drugs are drugs....rules, are rules....and he BROKE the rules TWICE...We all may not like it, think it's bs, or whatever, but it is what it is...
