Calm down. Saying people suspect him of stuff isn't flat out accusing someone of juicing. Hell, he even said he was juts playing devils advocate. Chill out.

I don't like saying this to people, but settle down. Unless I missed it, where in this thread has anyone accused Bautista of steroid use?

I was saying that its refreshing that he may be the first non user in a long while to go back to back 50HR seasons

"God, every time I talk about how great cigarettes are, a bunch of trolls crap on my parade with cancer comments"

Because there is good evidence that cigarettes cause cancer. And there is good evidence that steroids cause sudden explosive increases in people's HR and overall production.

I used to be like zOMG!!1! Barry Bonds took steroids, what a cheater. And then I was like zOMG!!!!1! Roger Clemens! And then OMG arod. And then MG 50 Cent. Then Mary J Blige. And then Wyclef, which for me would have been like a Christian learning about Ted Haggard, but honestly by then I realized pretty much everybody takes HGH. Larry Frackin King takes it. In a decade we'll all be taking it, HGH is the fountain of youth.

All right, I'll STFU now.

One might say that Griffey's previous record is even more impressive given the current ease of online voting

Thats what I was thinking.

Griffey's votes were almost exclusively from the ballpark ballots which is Beyond amazing.(I mean...beyond beyond)

Congrats for Bautista though, he certainly more then deserves to be the top vote getter. Its refreshing to see that he is on his way to duplicating or increasing overall numbers from last year including close to 100 points higher in AVG.

I'll look it up, and I know there is still half the season to go, but when was the last time a player who was not suspected of steroids bombed 50+ HR 2 years in a row?
just playing devil's advocate here, but he is suspected by quite a few people.
With absolutley no proof or evidence. He does have 15 passed drug tests the past 3 years though.

As long as there are products that they do not have a test for, people (IMO) have a legitimate reason to suspect. If he's innocent, it is a shame that he is not getting the recognition and credit that he deserves, but the reality of the era and the possibilities that are well known make it difficult for many to accept that he is clean, and unless something changes in the hobby, that's the just the way things will go for at least the foreseeable future.

Really? I just read it and it all makes sense to me. Maybe I'm just crazy. I did have a type, when I said "by the I realized" and left the n off, but I was on a phone and that happens to me on the phone. My bad. Which part seemed drunk?

I was just saying... we have found out that soooo many people were on HGH, that it doesn't surprise me and shouldn't surprise anybody to find out there are more people on it. If they released The List today, would any name surprise you? You might be like "wow they sure didn't help that guy, he sucked so bad I'm surprised he took steroids." If Pujols was on the list, it would be... I don't know what word I'm looking for, but "surprising" doesn't fit.

There are a couple things to look at. Historically, we have learned that sudden outburst of power is a good indication that somebody is taking steroids. You can look at a guys stats, somebody who was guilty of taking steroids, and you can see exactly where they started taking steroids. 8 HR in 1998, 32 HR in 1999, 41 HR in 2000... for a real life example, look at Ken Caminiti's stats, and check out 1996.

If you take the fact that "everybody" is doing HGH or something similar, and add that to the sudden increase in production, I don't think it's a stretch for somebody to say they think he's taking something. And I really don't think it's trolling. It happens in the Pujols threads, and that guy has been producing at amazing rates for his whole career.
