You're right. I had another look at ventura's injury on YouTube. Yikes! I just couldn't think of a more recent player with the same injury. (I know it's happened to several players)

I refuse to watch that video again, just like watching Marcus Lattimore, just won't do it.

There was also talk of trading for a servicable SS mainly for his glove. Why not stick with Kawasaki? Wasn't he a defensive whiz in Japan?

People didn't think Lawrie would cut it at 3B. He's definitely put the work in to be better defensively. Can't see why he couldn't hold his own at 2B. As much as I'd like to see Johnny Mac v2.0, the jays do need some production from that slot. Kawasaki seems OK for now, if he can be avg offensively that would do until Reyes is back. I have no idea who they could trade for (and give up).
