The Buccaneers have not beat a team with a winning record this year.

The bucs don't make their own schedules, they are one win from the playoffs on the shoulders of Freeman.

If they had an award for the best QB in the NFL, he wouldn't even win that, let alone the MVP of the entire league. Hell, he's the 3rd best QB in his DIVISION!!!!

They are one win from the playoffs...a league MVP would have led them to a playoff birth by now with their semi-sweet schedule.

His stats also aren't better than Vick's. Vick has a higher completion percentage, more TDs, a better QB rating (if you give that stat merit), and almost 300 more rushing yards...with three fewer games than Freeman. The only thing that Freeman exceeds Vick in is passing yards, which is only by 200 yards. Oh, he does have one less pick.

I would take Freeman over Matt Ryan any day of the year and as far as Brees v. Freeman, we shall see next week.

Good thing you're not a GM of an NFL team then!!!

Yeah, Freeman was very impressive in the 1st matchup vs. the Saints this season. ::facepalm::

Tom Brady.
31-4 TD/Int. Record 319 passes without a pick (and counting), 8 games with 2 TD, 0 INT (and counting).
13-2 record.

Here come the HILARIOUS comments about his hair, and probably something about his coach cheating several years ago Yawn....

(By the way, I'm in the Freeman-over-Vick camp, but not over Brady)

It's not like the Bucs haven't played any winning teams......if they didn't play a sole team with a winning record than you could say "not their fault" ...the fact is they've played good teams and lost all those games.

Pretty sure the pre-requisite for MVP would include being able to beat one team with a winning record.
He hasn't done that....so for he and the Bucs....it's "nice year, see if you can take the next step next year".

That's not to discredit Freeman. If I was a Bucs fan I'd be thrilled and looking forward to the future.....but the rest of the world isn't going to take much notice until they can do more than beat up on the Seahawks, Panthers, etc.

Being a Dolphins fan this reminds me of the Dolphins worst to first turnaround a few years ago.
The dirty secret there was I don't think they beat a team over .500 until the final week.

If Josh Freeman is the MVP this year than Chad Pennington should have been the MVP in 08'.
He took a 1-15 team to a division championship.

Pennington - 3,653 yds 19 td 7 int 97.4 rat
Freeman - 2,959 yds 18 td 6 int 88.8 rat

Looks pretty similar.....No one cared then when it came to Pennington......because they beat up on the league's worst teams....don;t seem why anyone will care about Freeman's numbers this year (at lest when it comes to major awards).

I didn't say he was better than Brady, that is obvious, but all this Vick MVP crap is garbage, Freeman has taken a
3 win Bucs team and made them a playoff team. If he played for the Jets or Giants and they were one win
away from the playoffs I can guarentee you guys would be on here talking of him like he was Jesus. Sure
the bucs defense has gotten gashed a few times this season, but Freeman has played well enough to beat
the Falcons twice and the Ravens once. The guy hasn't lost a game making stupid decisions all season long.
He is for real!

please add todays 5 td's to that total and update his passer rating. Thanks!

I've been dreading this day, but it had to come eventually

Kevin/joestalin/schmidtfan was the single most obnoxious fan on CU when the Bucs were good. Luckily, they've sucked the past several years, so he's kept quiet. I guess now that they're relevant again, he finally found the keys to his bandwagon.

I'd recommend that everyone root heavily against TB. Otherwise this will get real annoying, real fast

Just like last year when Pierre Thomas was doing good, Eric would make a post every week talking about how great Thomas is. Thomas has been hurt for the majority of this season and Eric is nowhere to be found.

Who is Eric?

And of course Thomas is hurt. Pierre is a French name. French men are weaklings

hmm bucs won it all in 02, made the playoffs in 05 and 07, and now are one game from getting into the playoffs
once again, they have also had a top 8 defense 11 of of the last 15 years. I can name at least
20 teams that would take that including the Eagles and Falcons! Now it looks like we have a franchise Qb not
to mention two solid rookie WR's and one rookie RB. I bet there wasn't two guys on here besides me who picked
the bucs for another 3 win season! We are getting it done...don't blame us cause the NFC West sucks.

Beating the Oakland Raiders in the Super Bowl is almost as impressive as winning a fistfight against a quadriplegic
