Was wondering what others expected from Jrue Holiday this year? After showing some glimmers last year I fully expect for his to really start to show his abilities this year.

Any chance he's around a 15PPG 6 or 7 assists?

I think he will be a valuable asset to the 76ers... I think he will average nearly double - double.

A few scouts envisioned him as a Chris Paul type of player - that's an overstatement, but who knows?

Here's my small stash:

If I had to choose three young PG to have breakout seasons?

1. Darren Collison
2. Jrue Holiday
3. Eric Gordon

All are capable of leading their teams and putting up double-doubles. Personally, I think collison will be the best of the three.

I would say 12-13 ppg, 6 assists.

He won't be the first, second, or third option in Philly. They're going to give Evan Turner every opportunity up there. I think Turner is a better player than Holiday; he's certainly more polished offensively. AI still needs his shots, as does Brand, who Doug Collins is apparently giving a reprieve to this year. Not sure what's going on there, except Philly's so weak inside (Speights/Hawes/Brand = yuck) that Brand still has to be the best option being that he's the only guy who's actually done anything meaningful in the NBA.

I think long-term Holiday will develop into a good player if he doesn't develop bad habits this year. AI will be gone soon enough, and Holiday has a chance to be a true slashing point guard.

Loved Jrue coming out, was thrilled Philly got him, then mad when his prices went up late in the season.

I'll go with 10 PPG, 8 or 9 APG and Coach Collins will play him more than you would expect 'cuz of his defense.

Not to be a dick, but I do believe Eric Gordon is a SG, no?

I do agree with you on the first two though and, if anything happens to Mike Bibby, the NBA needs to watch out for Jeff Teague.

As for the question at hand, I see him scoring around 12ppg or so and 7-8 assists, which are solid numbers for a 20 year old PG in the NBA.

My bad. I should have clarified my post.

Top 3 young players to break out.

Not to worry, I really agree with those three.

I have been slowly picking up random Collison cards (mainly NT patches and trying to grab some autos) as I think his cards SHOULD explode even more if he produces like he did last season, for an entire season.

Another guy poised for a breakout, in my opinion, is Kevin Love. I really think he will be a 16-18 and 10 boards as THE man in Minnesota.

From rotoworld:
Doug Collins said on Thursday that he expects Jrue Holiday to be a "Top 5" NBA point guard this season.
