I think that's the definition of a wash.

Duncan = no pop even in the 2 hole.
  No pop in the 2 hole
That's what she said.

Duncan is an absolutely terrible player. A corner outfielder that can't run, throw or field has to slug higher than .358. This is an old-fashioned case of family politics getting in the way of making a baseball team competitive.

Duncan is actually a 1B who played LF to get ABs

Duncan's an awful fielding first baseman. These past 2.5 years he's just been an awful everything. When he could still hit, he had value and the defense and baserunning mistakes could be tolerated. In case you can't tell, I really don't think too highly of him as a ballplayer.

I think its also relevant to mention that Duncan is quickly falling apart physically.

Age will not be good to him.

Yeah. Chronic neck surgery at 26 is not good.

Duncan = no pop even in the 2 hole.

He has the potential to as he did hit 20 a couple times.....nothing going for his offense.

That was pre-injury. He's had 2 good halfs in his entire career.

Since then, no power. I think 3 or maybe even 4 of those homers came in April.

I agree, but at least Lugo could spot Schumaker against lefties. Maybe Lugo will play 2/5 of the games at short, and Ryan the other 3/5.

TLR will work it around.

Will Duncan even make the active roster with LaRoche being acquired? I don't see Kotsay or Baldelli going anywhere.

Bench? Trade fodder? Stretch run depth? The only things I can think of for a team that can buy any position they want.

Soon enough you will see Lugo play.

The Sox are hurting right now in every department. Why are they going out and getting Crap players when they need somone that can hit. Maybe they think they can trade LaRouche and Duncan for Halladay  ::facepalm::

You know I would not be surprised to see if Boston gets the choice of Khalil or Glaus in the next two weeks

As the PTBNL?

PTBNLs are always guys who are not on the active roster I do believe, and almost always minor leaguers. If I had to guess, probably someone in Low, High A. A fringe prospect.

Glaus AND Khalil are both in the minor leagues right now. I LOVE that we shipped Duncan out of town. Should have happened a long time ago. And it is a win/win for the Cardinals, because they get rid of Dunc, Boston is paying his salary, and if Lugo tanks, we can just cut him and not really lose much except the PTBNL or cash. And I doubt the PTBNL will be someone who the Cardinals had big plans for or they wouldn`t have put him on the list.

I know they are, but you don't trade 30+ year old guys making 8M+ as the PTBNL.

Like I said, it's probably a Low A, High A 24-year old outfielder, somewhat similar to Sean Danielson, who was the PTBNL for Pineiro.

The way I heard yesterday is that Lugo was the PTBNL for Duncan, lol..............I have always seen Dunc as a 1B/DH.
