Ouch! Teheran gave up 6 hits to the Tigers today in 2 innings pitched. All six hits were home runs. Does anyone know what happened? Was the wind blowing out or was he just grooving heat down the middle?

I saw Keith Law mention he had no life on his fastball, but it's so early. Probably just needs a couple games to get back into shape.

It's crazy to see ho people react to one game, when the kid is still so young(21).

Now, I am not invested in him-so this isn't me hoping he can turn it around. But seriously, it's one game. People get way too high, and way too low, during ST. If you put together the actual innings each player plays in ST, it's just simply not that much game time.

I have no investment in Teheran. I only noticed Teheran's numbers today because I was checking to see how the Tigers did. But I do know a lot of guys on here are interested in Teheran. I felt his performance today (or lack thereof) was noteworthy.

How soon people forget.

In the spring hitters are far more advanced. Pitchers arnt always looking to win...especially this early. If he is doing this Mid April or early May.... worry. First outting in the spring... you need a closers mentality....forget it and move on.

At this point in the spring the pitchers are actually much more advanced. They have been throwing longer and this is the first time most hitters are seeing live MLB level pitching in months. This means nothing in reality since most pitchers are working on something such as a secondary pitch or mechanics, but generally it's discussed how in early spring it's the pitchers with the upper hand.
That said I fully agree, it's nothing more than a blip, move on.

next brien taylor?

What does this mean? He's nowhere close to being Brien Taylor. Taylor was drafted, was a southpaw, was arrested, was rushed, and was WAY more hyped.

Oh really? I always thought hitters were. Thats why you see Hunter Pence hitting a HR in each game so far and A-Rod hitting a HR in his first AB of the spring. Pitchers arnt able to locate and hittings are always ready to go as games start.

I know pitchers have been playing longer... but it more of an effort to get in shape for the season.

He obviously did not get the memo that he was pitching in this game....He must of thought he was scheduled to throw live BP....

Freddi and Roger were not happy with how he refused to throw a fastball on two 3-2 counts. He missed with a fastball to make the count 3-2 on two separate hitters and then served up a HR twice on a bad slider after Ross had called for the fastball that was sent in from the bench.

Braves can afford for him to struggle.
