First day of the new month:

070122.jpg\
2021 Prizm "Blue Ice" Dilfer auto 73/75. Just need one more to have all of the non-1/1 parallels. 2004 Pristine Refractor Barry Zito 05/49 - just need one more to finish up that team set. This one continues my lucky run of clean "uncirculated" cases.

This was listed by a seller with merchandise liquidator in their user name. They failed to mention it was the blue /25, although anyone could see it from the picture if they knew what they were looking at. I collect the annual archive cards /25, as of the last several years, trying to get as many as i can at reasonable prices (meaning i don't often get superstar players). I wanted a Perez and as it turns out, this was the only remaining 2019 Archives card I still needed a copy of. I ended up winning for a decent price, given his HOF status and the /25 archive, which seem to be somewhat popular. it was not a steal, as I had secretly hoped, but still happy to have won.

Got this on ebay from COMC and moved it to my port, so won't have it for a while. Will share it now, only because I am not sure why I bought it. I like the set, but it is one of those weird purchases that I tend to make. I could care less about the guy, but makes for a unique card.

I paid $5 for it, so not like I broke the bank. Honestly, it should be a dollar card! I got plenty of certified MLB autos that won't sell for a buck and this guy costs me $5!

A couple of "Big 3" cards. The Hudson is out of this year's Donruss set. I generally don't spend a lot on logoless autos, and this one was appropriately cheap. Mulder is from 2005 Topps Chrome Red X-Fractors, 14/25. Still need 8 cards to finish up this tough team set.

Black Tuesday:

070522-1.jpg
Team set completers! Jack Cust, Shannon Stewart, and Fernando Hernandez complete 2008 Topps (& Update) Black /57, and the two Andrew Bailey cards complete 2009 Topps (& Update) Black /58. From the first nine years of Topps Black 2003-2011 I now only need a total of two A's cards - a Frank Thomas/Barry Zito team card from 2006 Update and the 2010 Update Josh Donaldson RC.

070522-2.jpg
2008 Topps Black Tim Hudson 45/57 plus a couple of other A's Topps Blacks to get me a little closer on those team sets...1 card remaining for 2018 and 2 for 2019.

Bender completes the 1963 Bazooka A's team set, 6 cards - all of them HOFers. Eckersley puts me one away from the 1995 Upper Deck Special Edition Gold team set, just missing Rickey. It took years to find the Eck, it's from series 2. Mulder is a cool patch/auto out of 2004 Ultimate, 10/30. The Zito auto from last year is 35/50.

070622-2.jpg
Some more stuff. I tyhought the Piscotty auto/jersey looked cool even without logos. I'm 5 away from completing 2010 Upper Deck Gold/99 after grabbing the Bailey/Suzuki team checklist card.

Bigger day for non-Dodgers for me. There will be more later as well probably. Digging the newer FB & BKB pick ups a lot.

Kaline. Kaline.jpg. Gedman Archives /25. Gedman.jpg

A slew of basketball stars...including 3 old timers that I'd never heard of, but 2 were HOFers and a couple of more modern HOFers too...

You can see a pattern now that a lot of my non-Dodger pick-ups lately have been other than baseball. I'd share on those forums, but they don't seem to have much traffic. Then again, maybe most seeing these updates in the baseball forum could care less too.

So, I'll start with a BB add. Cecil Fielder purple archives. Fielder.jpg

Building up from there is a duplicate SR Titans Isiah Thomas. I liked the price for this HOFer at less than $20 and I like older certified autos before they became so commonplace. Isiah.png

The big score of the day is my 2nd certified card of this NBA Legend, but he shares space with his forever-linked partner in crime, MJ (the other one). Larry Bird Titans auto!! Bird.jpg

A pile has accumulated:

071022-1.jpg
The Giambi 1998 SI World Series Fever Extra Editon is 73/98. The Spiezio 1997 Donruss Signature Century Marks completes the team set...which was just 3 cards. The McGwire 1997 Prism Platinum Blue completes the 5-card team set. The 1992 Ultra Pro Canseco was the last Canseco I needed from that set...I had been searching for this one for years but had no luck finding it at a reasonable price. Finally found a price I was willing to live with but it was a lot of 9 cards! So I have 8 extras I guess I will eventually send to COMC or something. The 2000 Topps MVP Exchange Giambi is a little tough to find for a decent price, as well. And the Henderson completes my 1999 Fleer Tradition Millennium team set.

071022-2.jpg
Thomas completes the 2006 Topps Chrome X-Fractors team set. Fingers gets my 2005 Reflections Emerald/25 team set needs down to 3. The Beltre/Chavez 2005 Reflections dual auto Blue 04/35 is a nice one I still needed. A couple of 2004 Leaf Certified Mirror Whites...the Rich Harden auto 14/25 was the last auto I needed numbered higher than /10, and the Erubiel Durazo bat 050/200 finishes up my team set for both types of material cards - fabric and bats. The Grieve 2001 Private Stock bat completes the base GU team set...I only have one patch, though.

071022-3.jpg
2021 Prism Trent Dilfer auto 02/10 gives me all six non-1/1 versions of that card. I'm a sucker for '80s and '90s nostalgia designs so I had to grab the Eck GU card, 27/75. The Montas 2019 Topps Independence Day is 09/76. And the Ben Zobrist 2015 Allen and Ginter Mini Black completes the team set.

071022-4.jpg
Some more recent stuff released in the last year. The Marte auto is 28/50.

Archives /25 Lonnie Smith. L Smith.jpg.

These were pretty unique at the time. Lenticular motion card with a sound chip, calling the play. They were box toppers in Stadium Club, individually wrapped like a pack. Cal Ripken was the subject of both cards. They were battery operated and have died by now. Unfortunately they are not easily replaceable. Tow major issues though. 1. The card never has sound again unless you are a master of small tools with great dexterity. 2. The batteries may eventually leak! s-l1600.jpg

More FB autos today. Daryll Lamonica. Lamonica.jpg. Ron Yary. Yary.jpg. Each representing a favorite team of my youth, Raiders and Vikings.

Got a big haul of '00s stuff, here's the highlights:

071222-1.jpg
These are all /10, five Rich Hardens and a couple of Bobby Crosbys.

071222-2.jpg
Some Sweet stuff.

071222-3.jpg
Bowman Heritage parallel GU cards, 22/56, 35/55, and 07/52.

071222-4.jpg
Some nice Upper Deck GU stuff.

071222-5.jpg
Nice autographs. The Elements triple auto is 3/5, the Haren/Harden dual is 24/25, Harden Mirror Blue is 4/5, Crosby UD Etchings is the Red parallel 19/25, and lastly the Crosby 2005 Chirography 05/15...you don't see that set too often since it's not a parallel, just all super low-numbered cards.

071222-6.jpg
2008 Bowman Chrome Red Refractor Rich Harden 3/5. 2002 E-X Essential Credentials Future Eric Chavez 16/31...the later Credentials like this don't seem to have blown up in price much like the late '90s issues. I already had the "Now" version /30 so this completes the Chavez pair. Lastly a 2001 Upper Deck Exclusives Gold 14/25 Chavez. 2001 was definitely my favorite UD set from that time period so I try to grab these when I see them.

2021 Topps Finest Flashbacks Prism Refractor James Taillon /35 -- My second one of these, really like the design of this card.

s-l1200.jpg

2013 Topps Heritage Minors & Pro Debut Blank Backs 1/1 -- I don't usually go after the vault cards, but nice to have matching versions of his only two Altoona releases. Thankfully these early sets didn't have a ton of parallels. Have just the SP photo variation of each to find and Minors Heritage Blue /1 if it ever surfaces.
