Woolworth made some great mini sets. Wish they were still around.

I agree that you should just keep going, perhaps your next goal should be to fill an 800ct storage box with each Johnson RC you collect. That should keep you going for a while, and also pick up every PSA 10 / BGS 9.5/10 you can find (budget withstanding).

When you finally get them all, let the rest of us know how many 1989 Donruss cards were printed so we can get some idea of the insane production numbers from that era. My guess is that you give up after about 15,000 copies (leaving another 1,750,000+ still in the field).

I'm thinking you corner the market.

Agreed...

I think you go after the 1989 Fleer variations. Get every version, as many copies of every version. Know every difference, large or small, between every version of the card. Calculate the percentage of each version of the card. Become the resident expert on the 1989 Fleer Randy Johnson. Anytime anyone posts about a 1989 Fleer Randy Johnson, no one says a damn thing without referring to you first. Kind of like RITM is with the Ripken minor league issues.

That's what I think you should do.

I hear ya Mikey...they're hard to pass up. I have 100+ Chuck Finley Topps Rookies, 100+ Mark Langston Topps Trd XRC, 100+ Jim Abbott Topps Trd OLY XRC to name a few. Sad thing is, I wouldn't hesitate to take on more if the price was right.

Sounds fun! I am itching to do it again myself. I stopped doing it with Gwynn when I turned this:

into this:

Thus ending my attemp at continual hoarding...

You got rid of the Gwynn's? Well, I guess the card you got for it makes up for it.

Sky's the limit.

I'm up to 30+ Sandberg Topps RC. Been a while since I've picked any up.

Wow. I was just thinking we needed the Gwynn pics to add to this thread. (I may have a feeble 100 RJ rookies myself)
