So how much of a grade do you think the refractor line will cost me? Will they go done to a surface of 8.5 just for that?

Depends on the mood of the grader. ive seen ref. lines knock a surface grade down to 7.5

Great looking Crusade, for eye appeal that refractor line is not in a bad spot. I thought, like you, that it kinda looks like it's supposed to be there, of course it's not, but if you are going to have a refractor line, good spot to have it.
