Just cracked 50% on 2008 M&M Polanco blues and blacks

I wanted to complete a player in 2008 moments and Milestones when it came out, and settled on Polanco, with his 200 hits. Needless to say that went excruciatingly slowly, and it got to the point where I would only check eBay now and then to pick away at it. Then, a couple days ago, I found two lots on eBay (one blue, one black) that almost doubled the number I already had to almost 50% of the blues and blacks combined, and finished off the base sans one. When they come in, I'll have:

Base: 199/200
Black: 109/200
Blue: 86/200
Red: 22/200

I've been scouring eBay, Beckett, sportlots, FCB and The Bench since, and am now really regretting the time over the last two years in which I was not buying these, as it will now be a lot harder to complete. Oh well... wantlist is here if anyone has any.



Edit: Found 5 more on checkoutmycards.com, another on eBay and bought all 12 that I lacked that were on sportlots. Beckett has 10 or so more, for which I sent the sellers private offers (for otherwise, with shipping, they would come to $5 each).

Now at 116 blacks and 97 blues, finally cracking the 50% mark.

Good luck on your task. I was doing the Frank Thomas 513 HRs, but gave up when I found out that they skipped #474-487. Those, plus 2 others are all that i'm missing. I was at around 260/513 for the black & 125/513 for the blue when I found out. Lost a ton of $$$ when I sold them. Still have the whites, just for the fact that I can't stomach the hit i'll have to take on 'em.

jeremy: That's the one. I'm only missing one base, but there's a pretty good chance that I'd need any blacks or blues that you run across.

Cobra29svt: Thanks! That would be really cool to have one card for each home run. That being in concept only, however, I completely understand not wanting to finish it. Even if you had, I would imagine that would be somewhat frustrating after the 2008 season, as the set would stand eight tantalising cards away from a full representation of Thomas' home runs. (And then imagine if a later set had all 521.) If would be nice if Topps would keep such sets active, i.e. issue updates.

I'd love a set to include all of Gomes' hit by pitches...

Thanks to Fandruw25, pointing out that checkoutmycards had half a dozen of the cards I was missing. Got them, and a number of other random cards. I love how you only pay one shipping charge (plus 25 cents per card); shipping fees on Beckett kill me.

With the cards, and some other, I'm now over the 50% mark on the blues and blacks.

Another thank you, this time to cjb9421, who drudged through naxcom (sportsbuy) and found five cards that I was missing. Those, and two others (six black, one blue total), are now incoming.
