Just curious... This auto looks a little "off"

I've seen a bunch of unsigned '09 Topps Chrome that were supposed to be signed. Someone probably pulled an unsigned copy and decided to forge his auto.

That just looks blatantly fake to me. I think Topps made these too easy to "rub" off.

Topps made these too easy to "rub" off??? ::facepalm::

Alcohol will take permanent marker off of a non-porous surface, especially chrome cards.

As sloppy as it is, I think that it is real. I've seen his red refractors signed in red also with a sloppy auto as well as other golds. They most likely had some left after using them on the reds and used them on some golds.

These are on-card autos and the card is serial-numbered on the back.

This is real, just an awful autograph

Just because they are serial #'d doesn't mean someone can't rub the blue ink off.
Who else in this product signed in red?

cubfan - the "unsigned" ones you have seen are also ones that ppl rubbed off.

Most, if not all, Holland autos I've seen from this product are in red-ink.

This is 100% legit.

I hate to admit this, but I've done that with IP auto'd chromes when my sharpie was dying and the auto was very weak. Baby powder can do it too.

I suppose you could ask the seller for a scan of the back to see the Topps authentication sticker. If you buy it and it either doesn't match the scan or isn't there at all then you would have a good case for a refund.

Several were listed and posted about here when TC first came out, unsigned copies do exist.
