As most of you should know, the autos in 02 BC had rare facsimilie variations. I was wondering just how rare most people thought they were. I've as low as 20 and if you look at pop reports they are always lower than gold refractors.

I've had about 5 Gavin Floyds go through my hands throughout the years. It's my guess that 50 were produced. However, because of the lack of knowledge about the cards, I suspect half are still in 'commons' bins. Therefore, only the bigger names made it into the hobby circulation.

They're rare, and still draw premiums on eBay.

Dunno, but I had one of thepit.com encased autos of Wright /10 that ended up being worth nothing once all the hustlers and cheaters decided to encase their pack pulled ones and Topps didn't bother to keep track of the serial #'s for the 10 authentics.

Dave, what do you mean by you see them often? Maybe its just that wright gets sold a lot? It took over two years for me to find a mauer on ebay.

#251 in the set was Luis Terrero. THis got past PSA, obviously. THe picture on the back of the card is a little bigger, the card # is obviously wrong. Not many of them exist.

OK, Sounds like the entire set has parallels with fascimile autographs on them. I'll have to check my 2002 BC tonight and see if I notice anything different.

In a past thread about the 2005 Diamond King Glossy parallels I used the info to locate a Thome glossy in my commons. Supposedly only 20 of each glossy parallel exist. Haven't got around to listing it yet though.

If I recall, every card does except Jake MAuer. He was a redemption.

I think.

So if i looked through my box of 02 bc, what would i be looking for as a difference between regular cards, some have a facsimilie and some do. or is it just the autos?

Every player in the 2002 BC set has a facsimile autograph. The regular cards should have a facsimile autograph. Those players who had autographs inthe 2002 BC set have rare facsimile autographs - they are not numbered in the hgih 380s-390s-400s, but have much lower numbers. They are, on the front, almost identical, as I posted, except they have a facsimile autograph.

Here's an exception -- there are facsimile autographs produced in the regular amount of the last two autos in the set - So Taguchi and another japanese pitcher who I don't have the time to look up (Ishii?). So, if any player has an auto in the set, you would like to have his facsimile autograph, unless he's japanese. Those japanese facsimilie autographs (#401 and 402 I think) have no value.
