I haven't seen a new Piazza card in 2009 yet, but I was checking the BV of my Piazza collection, and I realized that even though I'm adding more cards to it, the value is still coming down. Anyone else notice this about stars after they retire, and is it a short term thing?

i thnk the main thing that is hurting piazza is the fact that he played during the steroid era....

I'm not looking to sell or anything except maybe a few doubles, but was hoping the long term value would stay fairly healthy. I'll be passing this collection on to my son some day and hoped it would be a nice long term value.

As far as the "steriod era" I'm not so sure Piazza is stuck in it like a bunch of other players whose names have been bounced aroud quite a bit. I've never heard anything about him taking steriods or anything else and would be crushed if it did come out that he did.
