I also encourage anyone who likes this type of baseball history to also get ahold of the the HBO series, When It Was a Game. This three episode series was made of entirely of full color home movies made by players and fans and it is a great way to spend a few hours watching some baseball history.

I think I'll have to go watch my DVD copy in a little while. I like the "intimacy" of the home videos in the three-episode series.
