thanks for all the memories Griffey!!! :)

he did the good thing stepping down. a lot of players have had a hard time letting go, but he retired at the right time... just last year he had flashes of past brilliancy's, but he had nothing in the tank this year.

Griffey was one of the few players who lived up to all of the hype and one I always rooted for, even though never a Yankee. He was great offensively and defensively.
Though already old, I feel even older now with his retirement. He got Upper Deck off to a great start. Its fitting his end comes slightly after the end of Upper Deck in baseball. I think he had the better career.

I think MLB can do him a favor by selecting him to play in this year all star game as a special guest.

Sad to see him go, one of my favorite players, met him at a card show back in 1989, real nice guy.

Great swing and a true Hall of Famer, you will be missed !

Junior was more than a talent on the field. He was the role model so many athletes try not to be. He was the guy that did his thing, let his play do the talking, and maintained the character of a true icon. He will be missed in a time when athletes make bigger headlines due to their lack of responsibility off the field.

My favorite player for many years. Pretty much the reason I love baseball today. Thanks for all the terrific years! I want to be at Cooperstown in 5 years.

What will be his vote percentage?

Kid,

Congrats on the retirement! About time, Dude! I was hitting better than you.

Sincerely,

Mario Mendoza

Can't believe Griff didn't hang around and tell the M's he'd announce his retirement right after he homers again. What a way to end a career - grounded into a fielder's choice out and was lifted for a pinch-runner on Memorial Day. Far from Griff in his prime.
