Caught on the Fly is one of the worst subsets of all time, (which would be a great title for another thread), so I am guessing 1/10 of his asking price... too bad, too. Don't see many Gem Masters out there...

I'm thinking like $750. That is one ugly subset. I think it'd be tough for someone to want to pay that much for a shiny animated fly. Albeit it is Griffey so maybe 1K.

I am surprised that it has not sold for the asking price. Based on other 90s 1/1 $5K is fairly priced.

It does look fugly but does it really look fugly in person? Eg., under the light and/or when tilted? Scans usually don't do certain cards any favors. Never saw one of those Gem Masters before.

George, you obviously know a lot about cards, my point is just that if I had $5,000 to spend on a 1/1 of my player, i'd pass on this ugly one and wait for the next... even if I had to send $7,000 on the next!! I doubt the owner would let it go for my guess of $500, but I have never been too accurate...

Uhmmm...they're 1/1's. The ones you mentioned are /25 and /50 respectively. Little bit different.

I was actually thinking the same thing, thinking what other Griffey inserts have sold for and the amount of Griffey guys out there.

I think the person willing and able to spend $5K on a card like this has a lot more than $5K waiting to be spent on card like this. Whoever dies with the most toys wins.

same exact design, just different numbering so an overpriced version imo

You should go to the BO boards. You would fit in much better over there.

so the super rave and skybox rubies don't use the same exact design pattern? hmmmmmm maybe you belong over there
