Topps just tweeted that his autographs will be in many topps products in 2012

Will people really care?

I'm not asking that in a cynical way; I'm curious if his autographs in Topps products could possibly be as popular (valuewise) as they were in UD products while he was playing.

Griffey autos will have sentimental value to older collectors, but I doubt they will command the high premiums that his UD releases did when they first came out.

That said, Topps should make a few Griffey/Mays Dual autos, and Griffey/Mays/Aaron triple autos.

The inclusion of Griffey Jr. autographs isn't as earth shattering as it may have been 10-12 years ago, but it will be nice to see some new Griffey Jr. auto cards.

The nicer, limited ones will be popular.

It would be aweome if Topps and any company for that matter would do ALL ON CARD AUTOS for any of the players signing that no longer play MLB. I think with Griffey stuff its all about what patch and uniform he is in as well. Would be neat if they could SP the Mariners stuff to keep the value high or something like that. Low numbering would be sweet too but none of those 1/1 cards that have 300 cards for the set.

I wouldn't mind getting a Griffey auto for my collection as he was one of my favorite players when I was younger. But, a lot of the card designs I have seen from UD are beautiful so unless Topps comes up with some awesome on card auto designs, I'll be going back in time for one.

I'm sure the odds will be long, but I've got 12 jumbo cases of 2012 Topps coming in and I would LOVE to hit a Junior auto. Great addition for Topps.

Can't wait to pull a Griffey auto redemption and get it replaced with an Angel Pagan!

The CEO of Upper Deck counterfeiting Yugioh gaming cards was the death blow for Upper Deck. It's the smoking gun that shows you cannot trust their products.
